I have opinions on media and that's your problem now
Having a chill and pog time with things. I managed to get myself to read some shit for college, so yippee! It's decent. I'm also continuing on with old comics, which continue to be a ball. Aaaaand I'm watching Fionna and Cake with some friends despite not having watched the latter half of Adventure Time. Oopsie! Oh well, it's fine. I keep trying to convince myself that I don't need to be the foremost expert on everything I watch. Rounding things out, on my 3DS I've been Tetrismoding off the shits, and I finished the Traverse Town section of KH:COM! Hooray :)
Haven't appreciated much that isn't trash fic, TBH! What I have done is get up to Cowboy Bebop episode 9! I get to switch over to my second DVD, ehehe! Fourth sentence ending in an exclamation mark! I'm having fun with it :) I fucked up coding the subs, so I had to go dub, and while it's occasionally hard to make out what people are saying, I'm glad for it. The dub is one of the best I've ever heard. Spike Spiegel is a silly goofy guy who I enjoy. The setting is really cool and it feels a lot like a product of its time in a good way. It gives a really good impression that nobody will come to help the crew of the Bebop should they fuck it up in the more isolated areas, while making the planets feel lively. I'd heard that Tank! was a great opening, and it lives up to the hype, but I wasn't prepared for The Real Folk Blues to be such a banger, and it really is! Music is my friend ^_^
Decided to read some comics tonight. I usually find it hard to motivate myself to start anything, but now that I'm in there, hopefully that's enough to keep me there. I was torn between starting on Duke Thomas or going from the very beginning of DC Comics (y'know, for shits and giggles), but I went for the latter. I'll be real, I didn't have high hopes, but then I read them and remembered that oh yeah, Superman became a cultural icon because the things he was in were good.
As someone who was never really into mainstream pop culture, I think this genuinely might be the first thing I've seen with Superman in it, and my main impression is that he's a balls-to-the-wall nutcase. What the fuck. Can't wait to see what he gets up to next. Takes a munitions dealer and goes 'OK motherfucker, I'm making us both join the army so you can see the evils of war.' He traps rich people in a mine to make its owner obey safety regulations. It fucking rules.
I also read some of the other comics bundled with Superman in Action Comics and that was also fun. Immersive. I skimmed most of the more action-oriented ones, except for where women showed up (I am a simple lesbian and they had shiny skirts...). I stopped on a Zatara one, because 'oh, hey, I recognise that name, that's Zatanna's dad', except it turns out that he had an orientalist sidekick :/ Tigress was very pretty though.
YouTube ReVanced also stopped working on me (and I have yet to fix it) so I switched to online radio stations for music, and it was fun! Felt less endless-stimulation than YouTube, which was great, though that might have just been because so many of my YouTube songs are super fast-paced and I picked a funk station. The station name wasn't lying, though. Those were some Funky Ass Tunes.
